This year I am going to take in some local baseball. The Kingston Loyalist Farms Ponies play in the EOBA senior league with teams from Ottawa to Markham. Here is the schedule. Double header tomorrow. • Good hat.
Snowbirds Over Town

Due to a compact lifestyle for now, we had a great view of a fifteen minute show by the Canadian Forces's Snowbird flying team last night. High neato factor and interesting, being about 5 km away from the centre of the show to watch the regrouping and hiding of jets above clouds.

I saw this in a glass cabinet at Queen's the other weekends when I was at an indescribably bad event not to be discussed (other than that it involved nose plugs and smiling) which required me to pace the hallway until it was over. A one hundred and eighteen year old hockey stick. It was amazing to …

The professional press is a wonderful thing, often taking to time to actually check things out before begining to type. This article in The Toronto Star provides useful background information to this week's protest by people of the Six Nations, including: • “In 1783, commanding Gen. Frederick …

This is the time you learn what sort of person you are. Someone sends you an email to do some weekend work for a good cause. So I type "Sure!" even with that exclamation mark as I am far more like a 12 year old committee girl that I like to admit. Then it comes: • “Meet out back. Bring a shovel …

Yesterday was a big day. Sunny. Plus five or so by the eastern edge of the big lake. I found myself at an auspicious point hydrographically speaking. All around there were shards of ice packing together for chill as if to to keep themselves. Ususally ice like this would be far across the lake …
Coffee Snob II

All of a sudden, Kicking Horse Coffee from British Columbia is on sale here in Kingston. Organic, fair trade, shade grown and even Calgary kosher - there are more logos on this package than...on something with lots of logos. • It is very good. Glistening beans. Other places we had tried recently …
Thaw

Is there anything better than a January thaw? OK, a February one. This is an inordinately warm winter here and there is a good chance if this keeps up that the lake won't freeze at all.

...it's off to work I go... • Things to note: • Despite it being December 23rd, and it falling on a Friday, I full intend to be as productive as I would be on April 17th. Really. I. do. • I don't plan to take a holiday break from blogging. Plenty do. Not me. I will have nothing to write …
