Brent Bambury is doing the transitional post-lockout CBC Radio One drive home show out of Toronto. He did the Ottawa / Eastern Ontario drive home show for the first two years we were here and I was not a little saddened by his taking off. But today I am a wee bit ticked if he morphs into the Toronto drive-home show guy post-lockout...because not he, I or Tod Maffin can make that play in my car when I am driving home. And, if that were to come to pass, he would have made it worse by playing Don't Fear The Reaper the classic late 70's teen-gone-beyond-angst anthem of the Gen X set.

My mother taught Brent Bambury when he was in grade 6. I sent him a letter asking him to sign the enclosed card for her when she retired (early!), which he did. That's my Brent Bambury story. I just like saying Brent Bambury. :-)

Radio 2's late night program 'Brave New Waves' hasn't been the same since Brent left.

He really ought to be just locked in a room with a microphone and feed happy cookies as a full time host for a new Radio 4.
