I think I have found a way to watch the Blue Jays. Stick to road games and listen on the radio broadcast on local 960 am. There is something very Big O about whatever they are calling where the Jays play, thought I have not been in it since the upgrades this year. If I get hit by something large on the head and decide it is a good idea to drive into Toronto on a hot summer Saturday with heat-irritiated children to watch a team destined to be fourth, I will have a better idea.
But last night they were at Wrigley in Chicago for a night game against the Cubs and I was amazed by the shadows. The back of the pitcher's shirts were in the dark as they got ready to throw. The fans in the stands looked like they were sitting in a steady state of dusk. Good game as well. Little ball. Getting to first was a big deal. Red Sox v. Cards on the TV tonight. Jerry Remy talking about restaurants as a triple play is made in the background.

Ouch! Massacre in St Louis! Maybe the Cards have a little grudge going back to October '04? But wait, was that 9 losses out of 10 for that NY team?

The Jays may be destined for fourth but when october comes around and Boston is one game out of a playoff spot, just remember that sweep!
