There is a lot to be said for the corny and old fashioned on a trip with kids. While there were newer and snazzier mini-putts on the Lake George strip, Goony Golf got our custom. It was packed on a hot humid night with scores of kids and parents looking forward to an ice cream afterwards.

The oldest "heart" on the sign around the 12th hole I saw was from 1986.

If you're ever down Syracuse way, come to Fairmount Glen mini golf! It is one of America's oldest mini golf courses and is very sweet.
