We played the lanes at the Big 20 in South Portland the other week and I am still getting over the embarrassment. Candlepin is by far the most difficult form of bowling I have tried and slumming it in five-pin and big ball have ruined me. Wooden gutters. I got a portlandesque spanking but I think it is fair to say that candlepin beat us all. No perfect game ever in the sport. It is the mistress and a cruel one at that. Good thing that I took the balm of BBQ in mighty form.
