The Luther Wright and the Wrongs set up before the show
So I went to the Luther Wright and the Wrongs on Friday at the Grad House. McAuslan's St. Ambroise Oatmeal Stout on tap all evening. Dandy.
I guess you would call the band "alt country". Alt is a funny word as it it meant to mean "new-fangled" or "more reverential than ironic yet still somewhat ironic". Conversely, when referencing brewed suppables, alt just means old and references a style of pre-lager ale brewed at
Koln Düsseldorf. [Ed.: Where is the html for an "o with umlaut" when you need it?].
Anyway, I liked the equipment, especially the 1950's amp Luther himself was using miked up through a rental stack. Only about 75 at the show but that makes for a pretty much packed room. I noted that white Adidas basketball sneakers and Swedish nike baseball-style hats are not in, except in my life. I must have been having a pretty good time because at break when I told the lead guitarist at the bar that it was a pretty good show he called me "Mr. Smiley Face".
Here are a few brief seconds-long movies (in the dark) of bits of the concert to give you a sense of what they sound like live:

The HTMl code for an "o with umlaut" is <code style="font-weight: bold;">ö</code>
Here's a giant one that we can all enjoy:<p><p><p><p><br><br>
<div style="font-size: 100px;">ö</div><p><br>

Nice umlaut, Steve.<p>Umlaut mania broke out in my high school years among some CEC band members. They all adopted nicknames with two dots. I really couldn't tell you what Kürt's name is.
