The Golden Nuggets. The same named country and western bar folded before we moved here but the sponsored shirts, whooo, live on in the old timers league.
I have referred in the past to these teams as "fat boy leagues" - but I am the only one that qualifies. Apparently we won. I played about half the game in four line changes. Thank God for subs. By the last 25 minutes the earth's horizon settled its shifting and I had achieved the slightest wind. We have a blessing of a sweeper, a fair selection of immigrants or, like me, their kids with more than some sense of the game not to mention our lovely black and yellow-orange up and down strips.
I have just inquired about an XXL Berwick Rangers short to better encase my girth. It may be a long road to fitba old fart stardom.

The running of the 17 story stair well has paid off and we were magnificent in our 2-2 tie last night. I am still on the prowl for a shirt but am at least satisfied that I have established a place on the team. Next week road trip to Belleville old timers. I am taking a hotel room there that night as we are off to the Zoo with all the cousins the next day. I am now at a time in my life that I will take a hotel room to avoid 200 km driving. I do not know what that says about me.
