I am so out of it. I turned 41 last weekend and I think it is really beginning to show. As a desperate and ill-advised attempt to reach back to something lost, better and younger I went to a record shop, immediately sucked in my gut, found the Franz Ferdinand CD and got out before the pimpled and pierced made me a butt of a joke I did not understand other than I was the butt.

Either I cannot be considered to be coping well and approach music like a film buff after seeing a volume of Kill Bill or everything is evocative with guitar bands these days, what with The Darkness and all. There is something of The Strangers in the tin-can vocals; the guitar break / bridge in "Take Her Out" is all 10cc meets "Jesus Christ Superstar" soundtrack with a disco high hat behind it all; all with a generous use of the fuzzbox, the guitar affect we all lusted most after in grade 11 rec rooms. All this is a good thing.

There is one Canadian date, Monday the 14th of June at the Phoenix Concert Theatre in Toronto. Damn! school night. You know - it is better on holiday and that is why we only work when we need the money.
