If you ask me - and you do - there are two pop divas from Canada, Celine Dion and Rufus Wainwright. In Canada, however, brains can only recognize one diva at a time. As a result, you are for one or the other if you are at all for divas. They are, in fact, anti-thetical. One gave us "Millbrook" - pure good; the other asked if we wanted "Water from the Moon" - pure bad. I am for Rufus as I am for good.
In the October 2003 Vanity Fair from pages 204 to 209 you will find A.A. Gill on Law Vegas and Celine Dion's show at Caesars Palace in his article "What Would Frank Say". Lush and rude and unkind but precise.
There is some style gland that goes malignant in Nevada.I do wish there were more A.A. in my life. Rufus has a new CD, Want One, out in a few days.

She may be a diva, but when Celine Dion does an interview, she is a dufus.

Whether you know it or not, Wayne, you are for Rufus.

I think we should add Hawksley Workman to the list of Canadian Divas. He's terrific.

My fellow CFL fan Isaac has recommended him as well. I had his CD in my paw until I saw Bif Naked's Essentially Naked last week. I needed a copy of "Tango Shoes". HW is on the list.
