What I love about the Tories is how they just can't say something directly. When planning change, they couch it in blandifications. Remember the "common sense revolution"? Get ready for "regionalism":
“Many of us would prefer to have a strong, democratically legitimate Senate that does reflect the regional perspective,” Mr. Kenney said. “We can do that without amending the Constitution. We can do it by appointing elected senators.”
What the heck is "the regional perspective"? What the heck is a region. If this pap is what the nation is... and Quebec is its own nation... what the heck is a region that isn't a province? We now have the most convoluted concept of the structure of the country possible: country, region/nation, provinces. Then we need a restructured Senate to somehow capture this non-thought and give it a veto over decision making.
Me? I am starting to think that Stephen Harper is an anti-Federalist disloyalist who is disassembling the Federal governance of the country for a purpose that appears connected to creating that famous firewall around Alberta - from the outside rather than the inside. Wouldn't that be funny.

Part of the new irrationality?
