Midges are gone. Mowing begun. Kids are practicing softball. Summer vacations are being figured out. Last of the kids' church choir meet the first suntan lotion slathering. Flower beds to fix. No jacket on the way to work this week. I still think it's going to snow one of these days.
- Silly Update: silly graphs.
- - Good to see HMCS doing its job.
- - An insane bout of overmapping the 2011 Federal election can be found here. Overmappers can get help. This sort of thing is just terrible to see.
- - Yemen's dictator calls protesters "saboteurs"... and "terrorists" and "criminals" and, soon, judges and jailers.
- - Even if it were true, doesn't that make heterosexuality a choice, too? And don't our new suburban overlords cherish liberties? Like, making choices?
- - The playoffs just got way less interesting.
Running. Always running.

Re sexuality as a choice -- in the 1980s, the politically correct answer was to say it was a choice. Then, by the end of the '90s, not a choice, b/c that helped advance gay rights ("you're punishing me for being who I am!").
The latter line still persists, but for my views on it, whether it's a choice or not is irrelevant. Civil institutions ought to treat gays the same as straights (e.g., civil marriage) whether it's a choice or not.

Exactly. Being married to another is always a choice as well as something of a bargain. What do we care otherwise?

Choice for me, but not for thee!

Incidentally, so with the majority it's now the "suburban overlords"?
I live midtown, and am five blocks away from a Tory riding... In English Canada, it's a crushing majority -- a shade under 70% of the seats.
Mind you, the "overlords" bit is more true. Commons majority now; Senate majority soon; Supreme Court majority (of SH appointees) to come.

But what are you running from?

My youth, apparently.
