It is to be acknowledged. It needs being taken on. It does not need being made. It was made some time ago. As a result, I have no idea what this could mean:
Premier Dalton McGuinty isn’t ruling out a proposal to make Remembrance Day a statutory holiday in Ontario. The debate over whether to make Nov. 11 a public holiday is important, but it should be left to politicians in the provincial legislature, McGuinty said in Ottawa. “What I do like about it, is it’s an opportunity once again for us as a society to remember how important it is simply to remember, and to understand the many sacrifices that were made by previous generations,” he said.
And, not to be critical, are being made now. And that it is the same sacrifice for the same cause.

It's a holiday in NS.
I rather liked it as a holiday.
But what matters is the two minutes' silence. And the ceremonies at the cenotaph are nice.
Maybe I'll hunt down a cenotaph today, downtown...
