Do you really think I am going to post on the Monday after the clocks go forward? It's like jet lag around our place. It's like being pushed though a wall of Saran Wrap, dehydrated and having a leg of your bed kicked by cruel elves all night. It's worth it to get the evening light but what a hassle to get there.
Because I write these things right after getting up, I am inordinately aware of the singularity of each sleep and the effect a good or a bad one has on the day. But why don't we praise and value sleep? Why is it that we can think a person who exercises a lot or eats well is taking care of himself but a sleeper is a slug? A slug-a-bed I believe some wag wrote. Oh, those wags. Parliament is even asleep. If we can't take their lead as a cornerstone to the national ethic whose can't we?

When I was in law school, my motto at exam time was "Sleep Before Study" - the "study till you faint" approach not having achieved any great success. I can't say the "Sleep Before Study" approach got me any better results but I felt a lot better....

Our clocks don't go forward until the end of March. Not looking forward to it. I like my bed too much.
