It is amazing how a few days can make such a difference in the life of one human. I didn't have an extraordinary weekend by any means. But these things I learned:
- How to cut a band-aid to fit the bridge of the nose after I whacked my face. Looks quite dashing in a rugged sort of way and provides plenty of opportunity to wallow in falsehoods.
- Rerouting duct work is within my grasp. Totally unrelated to the bridge of my nose is the bad duct work design that meets my forehead when entering a part of the basement. Having a stiller sort of weekend due to a variety of aches, I had a moment to consider the rerouting of two ducts to exchange their purposes. I expect I will get to it around May 2017.
- Outside of matters of my nose and house, I think I knew that France had extracted reparations for the loss of Haiti's slave based colonial revenue after Haitian independence in the early 1800s. But I did not know, even with the continuation of claims, that Haiti only made its final payment on this debt to France in 1946 according to CBS's Sunday Morning. It is a fact, however, that I can't find ready corroboration for on the internets.
- The Jets have the Lord on their side, have sold their soul to Satan or have a secret vial of pixie dust stuck away somewhere.
- That a child can say "well, that wasn't such a tough winter" on January 16th with all honesty and still be doing well at school.
- The Golden Globes appear to be a very public display of group drunkenness and no one seems to care. Very 1964.
Hey - this looks a lot like Friday bullets. But it's not. It's very different. Not similar at all.
