Six days of above freezing on the radar all of a sudden. This sorta thing always makes me believe it will be a soft winter but, then, WHAMMO, it will be -87 ten days from now. The Olympics may well be pooched if this sort of thing keeps up out west. What if the snow doesn't show? What if it rains and rains and rains? Do I care? I don't know that I care.
- Our Democracy Not Really Needed Update: the National Post takes a bold stand against Canadian democracy by suggesting Parliament not all that necessary.
- Scots cultural update: "Perhaps he was shaken by the discovery of his swally and lost control of himself temporarily." Poor bastard.
- Has the tide really turned this sharply over Harper and the prorogue? It was a stupid and utterly unnecessary risk to take. While the ace up his sleeve is certainly the quality of the opposition, moving from a 38% Tory to 24% Grit universe and back to 30%-30% must be quite the shock. Most of the shift in seats would be in Ontario. But "would be" is the key. Bring on the attack ads.
- Nil by mouth.
- I still think it's really funny how Leno won the game that was imposed upon him. I don't understand how Conan O'Brien considered it his birthright to have a show that lost in the ratings and only others are to blame.
- Does Hallmark have a "thank you" card for this sentiment? "Thank you, young terrorist - my spirits are indeed fine and my health is good."
- Noting this is just unkind.
Friday. Is there any better word? I often wonder what moment is the best moment of the weekend. Is it the Drew Carey moment of bursting out of work? The family supper? Saturday at 9:45? It will be here soon whatever it is.
