I canceled my non-beer Twitter account the other day. This morning I woke to ten comments from Europe on the idea of pairing beer and food - a pox on mankind as far as I can tell. Waiting for this continent to wake to my finger pointery. Just you watch.
Political and cultural blogging used to be as fun as beer blogging. I wonder what happened? One thing certainly is Canadian politics are in a rut and the fun right-wingers got their dreams dashed by Mr. Harper, I suppose. There are still waves of new beer bloggers having fun learning about writing about brew. Who really likes writing about the dynamics of the relationship between Iggy and Steve? The real story that no one writes about is, of course, the relationship between Steve and the Conservative Party and the Government of One but there we meet one of the walls of political blogging that points out how it is not citizen journalism. If there were actually 10,000 blogging monkeys paying attention to the government as opposed to 50 political hacks and 50 paid journalists and 50 polemicists working out their pre-existing personal political theories, that would be the story.
