I hate February. The only thing that makes the winter Olympics alright is that it happens in February so that there is something to do - like watching the bobsled. I usually a have a bad cold in February as I still do now, holding on for more than a week. My eyeballs feel like grapefruits. I had no idea what that might mean as a descriptor until today when, quite without notice, they feel like grapefruits.
- PEI quote of the week: "Happy f---ing birthday to me. I guess I'm stuck on this hellhole... I don't need to be lectured about flight time by you. I've been down here working my ass off for you people." Sweet. Speaker is an Islander according to PEI's confusing yet vital genetic rules of Islanderness.
- There sure have been a lot of booze related stories during these Olympics.
- Line of the week: "“They came like gorillas coming out of a cage.”
- Was there other news this week? What the heck was this about: "UN deplores Gaddafi call for anti-Swiss 'jihad'" Anti-Swiss?
- Do we worry about our lost web heritage? Did you know that this blog is being recorded for posterity by the Archives of Canada? I can't find the reference but I am sure I got an email about that a few years ago.
- Both the Grits and Tories are up. Apparently the Olympics are a bad time for socialists and separatists.
Enough. Must run. This is clearly all I can handle without more Buckleys.

At the start of Friday there are 19 medal events and 57 medals left on the table. Will Russian catch Canada? Will Canada catch Norway? Medal table. Events table.

"My father was born in Summerside and many of my relatives still live on the Island, which I love and visit almost every year ... To me, it is a very special place that demonstrates the best Canada has to offer. I wish to express my appreciation to all the hard-working people who make it so welcoming."
Ah, well, thus the 'hellhole' comment. Thanks for explainin'.

Airport security does provoke outrageous outbursts. It's illogical, bullying and silly much of the time.
I too am wondering if we can catch Norway.

And that photo! The two hyenas catching a wiff of a rabbit? Just creepy.
Momma always told me "you say what you say - who you want to be makes the apologies".

I know that this is the locus for all good things about PE Island. :p
That said, take off your damn boots, lady. If you make us all live by those silly rules, you have to, too.
