...not all "Olympics yes!" The torch came through town last evening and the road show was both impressive and cheesy. All Coke and bank and Hudson Bay clothes branding, all 27 minutes of razzle (and even a bit of dazzle) before the show left town. Is it supposed to wind me all up for February when I can feel even better about watching TV for two weeks non-stop, trying to figure out which Norwegian is which? But on the other hand it was a fun time, plenty of people were happy to say it was over the top as yet they waved little flags. Comforting was the fact that the crowd stayed entirely in place for the speech by the final torch bearer of the night, local hero Vicki Keith, but rapidly evaporated when the first VIP / former community organizer / stakeholder representative took the microphone.
