Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg told Brown that he could be sent to state prison if he violated any terms of his sentence, including an order to stay away from Rihanna for the next five years. Brown will serve his sentence in his home state – Virginia – and his community labour will be overseen by the chief of police in Richmond. The judge said she wanted to ensure that Brown, 20, performs physical labour instead of community service, such as mentoring young people.
I don't bother much with pop culture news let alone pop crime news but the imposition of labour is a pretty snazzy move as far as both general and specific deterrence goes. You know, maybe that is what Hollywood needs these days when it's children go astray. Maybe it's what the evil doers messing up Wall street or Congress could benefit from, too. Could there be a reality show themed along these lines? What if Paris Hilton had had to do community labour for six months in Virginia. What a hoot that could have been.

Schneggly-weggly ain't so tough when it comes to three-time losers of the female variety
do we detect a bit of gender bias in the tough-talking judge-to-the-stars?
i think we do
