Why do people say these things? Unplugged? Does he mean doing an acoustic set or being taken off life support? In either case, I don't think Liberal spokesperson Senator Jim Munson (who? that's who!) meant either when he was describing today's planned unveiling of the Grit platform, as reported by the CP:
"You are going to be seeing Stephane Dion unplugged," he said. "I think you are gong to see a campaign more focused on touching people's hearts and rallying the troops"...The Liberals are hoping their platform, along with a full costing of the promises, will help turn the tide and help answer Tory charges that Dion will either raise taxes or spend the country into deficit. Liberal insiders say there are still a number of big-ticket promises in the platform that have not yet been unveiled, including health care.
Is that what you have been waiting for? The whole platform? Or have you been waiting to see if the Liberals can get their noses above 25% to see if there is any point taking the time to read the platform?
Other News for Day 16:
- Eeeeeeeweeeyikie.
- Good point: "We cannot win against the Americans, we cannot win against the Russians and . . . we are too civilized to shoot the Danes..."

Meh. I'm bored. Can we have an election already?

I find most things when unplugged are less than powerful... Plugged in to the needs of the nation sounds so much more interesting.
(Drives me nuts when people use out of date catchphrases and terminology in press releases/commercials etc.)

As much as I enjoy watching the Liberals flounder below 25%, they're not going to be there come election day.
They'll probably break 30%.
(On the other hand, I probably won't read their platform...)

C'mon Al, unplugged means "with sleeves rolled up" duh!
sean - September 22, 2008 11:37 am
Guess that means I'm unplugged right now!

Sorry Al - I asked my doctor pal what unplugged might mean in regards to a political leader and she posited that it meant that he was going to get back to campaigning right after that high colonic.

That's a very good point.
