It is odd living in Kingston sometimes and no odder when there is a foot or more of of snow within fifty miles as the crow flies but nothing here. That is from WWNY TV from Watertown,
NY up top and to the side is the scene this morning in Ottawa. Here is the Ottawa Citizen's report on the snowfall up there:
By 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, up to 11 centimetres of snow had fallen in some areas and winds gusting up to 50 km/h and freezing temperatures left roads a mess. Quebec was heavier hit, with as much as 20 centimetres falling in some areas.
I suppose this means I should get the shovel out as one day this may hit us. I suppose I should put the BBQ away.
Oddly, it did not snow or even rain in Philadelphia yesterday but they did not finish the World Series. Was it because House was on Fox?

I had to clear off the car and scrape frozen icy snow. Dressed the children in snowpants and other gear, drove the 25 km to Ktown and bam... no snow. No snow and a pair of kids yapping about how bad a parent I am for making them dress in snowpants and boots on Oct. 29.

When I got out to the car there was the merest skiff on the roof so I suppose I should not gloat entirely on this one. But you don't have to shovel roof skiffs.

Good Heavens...snow...in Canada...in October.
What will David Suzuki say?

He'd say " darn it all, I need to wear socks with my Birkenstocks a bit early this year".

Saranac Lake after the first snow.

That's quite a lot of snow there in Saranac Lake...
(Who knew that this internet thing would allow seemingly intelligent people to diiscuss the weather at a 3000 mile remove.)

The internet may actually have its uses.
