I have to say, I have really been having a hard time understanding where Mr Obama stands on...you know...things. This news today makes it even more puzzling:
Sounding presidential, Senator Barack Obama said Wednesday he would order a surge of U.S. troops – perhaps 15,000 or more – to Afghanistan as soon as he reached the White House. "We're confronting an urgent crisis in Afghanistan," Mr. Obama, the Democratic contender and now clear front-runner to replace George W. Bush, said Wednesday. "It's time to heed the call … for more troops. That's why I'd send at least two or three additional brigades to Afghanistan," he said in his most hawkish promise to date.
Didn't I just see an ad on TV lashing out at spending 10 billllllllion dollars a month in Iraq? Didn't I understand that there is a plan to wind up the war sooner than later if he wins? I wish there was a "Joe the politician" who could explain these things. Or maybe "Joe the pundit" or even "Joe the blogger." By the way, I sure hope someone has registered joethepundit.com.

Doesn't it make sense?
Move the military focus back to Afghanistan, away from Iraq, where it should have stayed in the first place?
People could disagree with the need to stay in/escalate the Afghan war, but criticizing military spending on Iraq certainly can't necessarily be equated to criticizing all foreign military operations. In fact, it could be seen as criticizing the ones that have obviously failed and re-focusing on the ones we are starting to lose but still have a chance of winning.

Well, I suppose. But it's the overall lack of a plan on anything combined with the surge of love for the candidate I don't get.
Frankly, I love my title of this post so much I could have posted anything under it and still be in greater and greater love with the guy in the mirror.
