May is awesome. I sat at the river behind the office and read for the first time at lunch the other day, hail free.

My garlic is up about a foot (scapes to be eaten soon!), our leeks are as well. I planted carrots for the kids and our purple beans on the weekend and my flowers, pumpkins and tomatoes are all sprouted in the growing trays on our deck ready to plant in a few weeks. Mowing for me will be Sunday.

I could smell puffballs in my woods the other day but just couldn't find them. Maybe it was just shelf fungus. They don't taste as good.

I set out ant traps. Death to the queen (the ant queen mind you, in case CSIS or Don Martin is reading this)
