A day to not do anything:
GENERALLY EAST OF ROCHESTER THIS MORNING. SUB FREEZING TEMPERATURES AT THE SURFACE WILL KEEP THE THREAT FOR MODERATE FREEZING RAIN ACROSS EASTERN SECTIONS FOR AT LEAST THE NEXT FEW HOURS...ALTHOUGH TEMPERATURES ABOVE FREEZING ARE NOT THAT FAR OFF TO THE SOUTH WITH BOTH SYRACUSE AND ROME ABOVE FREEZING. COULD SEE SOME OF THIS WARMER AIR WORK INTO EASTERN SECTIONS LATER THIS MORNING AND CHANGE FREEZING RAIN OVER TO A PERIOD OF PLAIN RAIN. LOOKING AT THE POTENTIAL FOR AN ADDITIONAL QUARTER INCH OR MORE OF FREEZING RAIN BEFORE ANY CHANGE OVER TO RAIN OCCURS. WILL MAINTAIN WARNING.I love the way the US National Weather Service shouts in all caps. They have to for anyone to hear them over this storm. Environment Canada is less panicked, more general:

For regions along the northeast shore of Lake Erie..Freezing rain and ice pellets will continue. For areas adjacent to Lake Ontario and along the St Lawrence Valley..The precipitation will be snow mixed with freezing rain or ice pellets and then end with some snowfall accumulations.Dirt.

bah.. Its not that bad. I drove all 22 km in at about 60km/h and the road traction was quite good. Soon as I hit Ktown though, as usual, everyone drives like was 3 inches of ice on top of 2 inches of bunker c oil on the pothole filled roads. I am sure that in true Kingston tradition (since Ye Great Ice Sturm of '98) that all the grocery stores will be filled with weather panic-ed locals buying up batteries, canned goods and water all day.
