It ended up not being that idle. Taxes yesterday. Driver's license renewal Tuesday. I'm wiped. Must save up energy to pray for Morton tomorrow.

- El Tigre has posited (or at least frets) that McCain will pick Romney. I find this highly improbably but in this US election campaign - the boring cannibalistic Democratic contest, the more interesting Republican one that ended too soon - anything can happen now. Apparently Fred Thompson knows he is not in the running for VP.

Boy, I'm sure glad I am not flying out of LAX. I have a piece of metal in my hip from a stupid shooting accident back in 1984 and I'd hate to have to perform surgery on my self before I could embark.

I'm not sure whether I'm worried, horrified, or glad about the Romney thing.
The thing is, when you think about McCain's weaknesses, Romney's areas of expertise map perfectly on.
And the disadvantages of Romney -- especially the gelatinous expanse that substitutes for his spinal column -- are not a factor for Veep.
And it's oh-so-fun to see him play the good soldier. It'd be wonderful to see it for eight years... :p
