I agree Alan. There is this huge gap after premiership soccer ends (after my team has yet again won...) in the summer where I have nothing to watch. I am a Pats fan but again, it starts in the Fall. I am without a CFL team to be a fan for though and I do not want to be one of those boring people like my dad who watched every single sport on television when he wasn't out golfing and running, with no specific team at all.

Ottawa would be an obvious choice but like you said, nOtttawa this year.

I dislike Toronto in all of its evil guises for the post part.

My Great grand parentage were from Quebec so Montreal is a possibility however we plan on retiring out west as in BC in a few years so it would be nice to have a team to follow and be able to say "been a fan for 10 years" etc etc..

And Calgary, well, its hard to support anything associated with oil money, regardless of how arms length it be.

hrmm.

I officially start watching now.

BC's starting quaterback is named Buck Pierce. Everytime he throws a touchdown, broadcasters will have a field day.

"He Pierced the Argos D with that throw!"
"That pass was worth a millions Bucks!"

Do you need any further reason?

I want to like it more than I do. I want to pick a team again, and I may yet. I would like to have a big Grey Cup party like my parents used to have; it was a big sporty, nationalistic, election-night/New Year's Eve bash.

I met qb Don Jonas once in my jammies! (And Howie Meeker another year - Dad's high school had a sport banquet and he hosted the after-party a number of years. So it was meet-the-special-guest and go to bed.)

Some times, though, I do have an urge to watch a CFL game; something comforting about it.

We had company over last night and I managed to squeeze in 2-4 minutes of watching the Edmonton game while they looked on. Made me feel all flag-ish and nationalistic... okay, maybe not, but it detracted form the boring conversation about 80s pop tunes for a moment.

I worked with one of the Shad brothers back in 86, does that count for anything?

I have been an Ottawa CFL fan for years. A team is supposed to come back in 2010. Even though I hate the CFL without Ottawa, I watch like the fool that I am, critiquing and loathing the other teams and scheming their demises especially the Edmonton Eskimos. I always hated the CBC coverage of the CFL, especially the "lunk and bookish guy" thing. The TSN coverage, camera angles, talkings heads, inteviews and analysis are miles better.

Ticats! I live for the day when the CFL starts up a feeder league in Europe. The CFL in Europe!

With teams in Gdansk, Bratislava, Riga and Oulo.
