It's just that no one noticed the vacuum, you know? The PM lost the grip. The leader of the opposition lost the grip. Misguided western resentment gained another notch towards gaining legitimacy as apparently the guiding principle in Canada. All nothingness. A sad week that is ending up with a cold on top of everything. How can I be expected to keep it all together for all of you, to provide the guidance you need at this point in history, if I am numbed by Neocitron and gagging on Buckley's Mixture? Sometimes you really ask too much of me, you really do:
- Update: good article on Trevor Green in the Vancouver Sun.
- First, it is worth noting that the 2008 Yule Beer Blog Photo Contest has gotten well out of control. We have something like 200 entries and maybe 35 prizes to give out from brewers and beer related folk around the world. In 2009, I am doomed if the annual rate of increase continues.
- I am rapidly moving up the Google ranks for the search "Nick Adonidas blog" and holding at 11...which apparently means I now get Western Standard spam.
- Warning: taking drugs obtained by strangers through the mail may be dumb.
- I have never heard of a catboat but I do think one would do the trick.
- Just say no to the Yankees.
- I do hope the supposedly "monumental" to come can even pass the sniff test. Not being partisan but who lowered the bar so far and when did it happen?
- Morton is out of the cellar and may well climb higher with a win tomorrow against Partick.
- How low will oil go and how is it Canada had those surpluses without a bubble in the oil market?
That is it, that has to be it. Let's see if I can get a bit more snoozing in before dawn. Send kleenex.

Partners in crime? Didn't the GG abet the PM when he called an election earlier than his newly minted law would have allowed. And has she not now turned her back on the legal rules of parliament by allowing the PM to duck a confidnece vote? Non-legal minds want to know if we have charlitans or criminals or both at the helm here.

Problem is, since a vote of confidence hasn't yet taken place, he has the right to ask and she has the right to say either yes or no, but little more. Until there is a vote, she cannot make a decision to consider a coalition. Steve dodged a bullet by being undemocratic.

The Neo-Buckley's Mixed Drink o' Doom sure did wonders for me this week, though I'm still not out of the woods yet. Beware the cough. It comes at the worst possible times during your day.

Okay, nowhere else to put this really, but wtf is Avery getting a 6 game suspension for? That has to be ludicrous, imo. Okay, rude and crude, sure. Obnoxious? Absolutely. But this isn't the Todd Bertuzzi assault or even MArty McSorely having a temper tantrum. No substance abuse issue. So he complained about his exs sleeping with other NHL players, publicly. That's grounds for a suspension? Bettman's lost his mind, imo.
We now return you to your regularly scheduled Genx40 glee club meeting. (vanishes)

The Yanks are gearing up for their new stadium and need to generate revenue. Star power sells. And another World Series in 2009
