For something that is supposed to be reflective of the new, "web 2.0" sure is getting long in the tooth. And, really, isn't it a bit passed it already? All it was supposed to mean was the responsive and chatty aspects of the internet - you know that aspect that was aways there but just not highlighted. Well, in any event it seems to me that a new name is needed if this sort of stuff is happening:
Web 2.0 is set to be embraced by Enterprise 2.0 as businesses prepare to spend nearly $5 billion by 2013 on social networking tools. Over half of the companies in North America and Europe see Web 2.0 as a priority for next year, a report says. The news comes as San Francisco plays host to the Web 2.0 conference on next generation of the web.See, what is being proposed is that I can talk to my car, my fridge and my toaster through these investments - not that I talk any better to people, really. So how is this "social" net working.
Society does not include my toaster. What is the word for the world where it does?

You are going to like your toaster more than people.
Assuming, of course, this isn't the case already.
