It is a grand thing when your fantasies and solid factual reality coincide so that your predictions for the playoffs can be as good as mine are:
American LeagueUpdate: error noted and fixed in coments.1) Angels vs. Red Sox (Sox in 7)
2) Yankees (yeecht!!!) vs. Indians (Cleveland in six)
3) Red Sox vs. Indians (Red Sox in 6)National League
1) Rockies vs. Phillies (Phillies in 6)
2) Cubs vs. D-Backs (Cubs in 6)
3) Phillies vs. Cubs (Cubs in 6)World Series Red Sox vs. Cubs. Sox in 7.
Ry has submitted here but can change before the deadline.
Prize? A real 1970s baseball card. Not my 1971 Hank Aaron or anything. But a real one. Maybe I have a double Billy Martin or something. Scoring? Simple: most games won by teams predicted to win series, divided by deviation from actual multiplied by extra factoring for style. What could be easier?
Put in your best guess before Thursday at 9 pm. That is right. You actually get to see some games before the deadline closes. How fair is that?

Alan,
The divisional series are best of 5, not 7. I like your picks, though. Regards.

Yeah, I realized that this mrning when I turned on CNN that it's a best of 5. So I'll have to amend some.
AL:
1) Angels vs. RedSox(Angels in 4--won't desicrate the Green Monster)
2) Yankees(ptui) vs. Indians(Yankees(ptui) in 5)
3) Angels vs. Yankees(ptui) (Angels in 5)
NL
1) Rockies vs. Phillies (Rockies in 4)
2) Cubs vs.D-Backs(Cubs in 3)
3) Rockies vs. Cubs(Cubs in 7; many, many HR hit in this series)
WS:
Cubs vs. Angels (Cubs in 5)
Why am I favoring the Yankees(ptui)? They've still got that playoff magic thing in their favor. Jeter may be over hyped but he pulls off some amazing crap in the playoffs and I think A-Rod is due for a playoff series. But, lack of pitching will eventually catch up to them in the second round.
And the Angels will avenge 1986. You guys still owe us for pushing Donnie to commit suicide in the offseason over the HR he gave up that decided the series. What? Did you think we'd forget?

I am quite excited here in my Cubs t-shirt, and I too hope for a Red Sox-Cubs world series, although both teams, historically, ahem, have a habit of choking in the playoffs, but hey, its a new century and the White and Red Sox both won lately, so it's CUBBIES TIME!

As the Japanese groundskeeper said in Major League, "They're still shitty."

Too bad no Yankee fans post here. I'd love to be so mean.

Yes, ry, that was indeed impressive. Thank you for pointing it out.
