My pal Dan has been tracking the Hurricane Noel as it moved up the eastern seaboard and became a tropic storm before hitting the Canadian Maritime provinces. Here he is out in the wind this morning.
I think he thinks we can hear his voice over the roar. More here.

"Minnesota vertising"
Noel was a lot stronger than I thought it would be. House-shaking gusts that reminded me alot of Juan. And it lasted much longer than Juan; I remember feeling those big gusts before 9pm and again around 5am. Of course, I had a good sleep in between, which didn't happen at all during Juan.

"Struction 4:42" wtf?
My question is why do CBC announcers insist in referring to Hurricane Noel as "Hurricane Knoll"
They keep mispronouncing Noel.
Its driving me nuts.
I mean, maybe its because when I took Announcing Techniques in year one of Radio they sort of strongly implied you pronounce proper names as the person or persons who are named such would.. Maybe I'm just a stickler. Then again I got my wrist slapped for saying "sham-wah" instead of "shamy" when I read "chamois" on my news sheet..
