A = storm track. B = me.
The US says of a sort around eleven miles from here:
Tonight...Cloudy with snow developing later this evening. Accumulation 2 to 4 inches. Not as cold with lows around zero. Northeast winds 10 to 20 mph. Chance of snow near 100 percent. Wind chill values as low as 20 below.Up to 22 inches all in. Environment Canada says about 6 inches - which will be right? Except - at the warning it says up to 18 or 20 inches is possible.Wednesday...Snow. Snow May be heavy at Times. Additional accumulation 12 to 18 inches. Highs around 10 above. Northeast winds 10 to 20 mph...Increasing to 15 to 25 mph. Chance of snow near 100 percent. Wind chill values as low as 20 below.

If you convert those inches to centimeters, it looks a whole lot more...
Is this the same snow that is heading up this way?

Hey, be nice there Jay. This is no laughing matter. I had to walk 3 miles(okay, more like 2 and a quarter) in the same storm today. the Gollum mobile sind busted. It was not fun. I pray you keep you, the kidlets, and the wife out of the cold and 40mph wind driven snow(as it hurts even me). It was not fun. Stay warm all. And when it passes, through a kidlet into a drift for me, wouldya?

My boy is mad because he is seven and I just said "snow day".. egad. He is angry that it will be the "worst day of my life" because he won't get to hand out valentines and eat cake and stuff.

My eldest has been sick with the flu since Saturday. He's not happy that he's missing Valentine's at school, but we've made arrangements for an exchange of packages with the teacher.

I called a snow day for myself and am spending it on the couch. More or less. The trick will be to not go out. I was tempted, but Ry has talked me out of it.

I had a relaxing day playing Tiger Woods Golf, watching All Creatures Great and Small season2, making muffins and mucking with code.
Shoveled 1/2 a driveway after 3:30 and drove to town.. egad, storm is over and everything is terrible drivnig wise. People have died and the 401 was closed. Gee, wonder why I stayed home...

Meanwhile, it was a balmy -14 C, with only a light smattering of snow, when I touched down in Yellowknife this aft. Mind you, it felt like -30 C when I left Winnipeg, but at least it wasn't storming like it is in Ontario. Stay indoors; stay warm.
