This is great. I haven't bothered one moment worrying about whether Manny wants to be with the Red Sox this spring as the Yankees continue to be the best soap opera going. In addition to the Bernie Williams thing, we now have A-Rod v. Jeter II, the follow-up to last year's Sports Illustrated article in which A-Rod talked about himself, and his crap post season:
For years, Rodriguez has encouraged speculation by pretending he and Jeter were still close. Earlier this month, at a book signing in Manhattan, he insisted they were great friends and said, “Things couldn’t be better.” On Monday, Rodriguez tried a new approach: honesty. “Let’s make a contract,” Rodriguez told reporters. “You don’t ask about Derek anymore, and I promise I’ll stop lying to you.” Rodriguez went on to admit that he and Jeter were not the buddies they once were, while stressing that they function well as teammates.Fabulous. Seeing as they play 15 feet apart for something close to 175 games a year including playoffs, this is bound to effect the team in no way.
For the record, I blame everyone.
