When I did my own when I was self employed consulting, tax time sucked the marrow from my bones.. but now that we have basic normal people taxes with a couple of t4s and some daycare deductions, I just use Quicktax and file online. Takes me all of 15 minutes per person and we get our return in less than 10 days..

I feel your pain, Alan. Those two months and a bit on contract last year made my taxes a nightmare. But I knew that them owing me $6500 was definitely wrong.

So I figure I am going to make mistakes every year. And so I generally do the taxes twice, once in pencil and later on another day in pen. I hate when that means 50% reduction in refund. Half a roof, half a trip.

I overpaid by 50c because I found an error too late. I figure they can put it towards the debt.
