From the gen x at 40 state fair reunion: T-bo is, as imagined, a great guy. Glad to meet him. Alan is still a very tall person. Big surprise: Foreigner, a band I did not like in my youth and have the same opinon of now was AWESOME. I guess if you played 'cold as ice' and 'jukebox hero' for 30 years, you would probably be pretty expert at it too. As we made our way past the stage, it could be seen that the guys are not young looking, as they are probably pushing 60, but are in terrific shape, and that drum solo was something else.
There will be extensive coverage of this and the championship piglets at my blog, link above.

Alan, hope you enjoyed the (slightly improved) weather down here. Sorry I couldn't make it! Sounds like you had the best Miller Court band this year, too.

The best was the group of 15 year old guys near the entrance/exit doing prickly ironic teen air guitar alnd laughing about how uncool foreigner was. They were wearing hoodies and brown cord jackets and their bangs almost hit the end of their nose. It is 1975 again.

Overheard at the state fair: girl behind Alan asks her mother 'why is that man wearing a kilt?'
Why indeed.
