It is a full life here at the new place. My goal today was learning to bore into brick and I did a job that I suspect will hold for the reasonably foreseeable future. That, with things handy, is usually as far as I get to go. Now, all shall hail Louisiana.
Next task, caulking the leaky tub backsplash. Timeline, before October.

The top screw already worked itself loose so a wider blue concrete screw replaced it this morning. All is well.

I am an ignorant fool, but please tell me: what flag is that with the pelican? Is it really Lousiana?
Alan - September 10, 2006 2:16 PM
it is indeed Louisiana. Note there are four pelicans, the adult and four pelicanlanettes.

Oh. But again, I am an ignorant fool, did you ever explain why you are hoisting the great flag of Lousiana? Perhaps because you think it is cute or maybe inspiring or maybe in sympathy with the troubles brought on by Katrina?

It's all about the pelicans, baby. <p>Actually in PEI if you raise a flag other than the provicial one or the national one some blowhard neighbour or another would tell you you shouldn't (never having, of course, the slightest grasp of the concept of "none of your business"). Letters would even get written to the editor - and published - on this pressing issue. We had an alarmingly dense example of this attribute near us so I began to collect these sorts of flags. I have a Swaziland and Bhutan, too, that was always good for a laugh.

How about hoisting the colours of our fair city, Alan? I have never been able to find out where to buy one.
Alan - September 10, 2006 9:22 PM
Good idea - and I might just have a line on a source. It is a fine flag, our city's

Kingston flags are apparently available at the Tourism Information Office at the old train station in front of City Hall.
