This is weird. I was not aware that Syracuse had the right to actually have more points on the board late in a game in the Big East. But look:
Touchdown, Syracuse.I will have to start thinking nice things again about them.Syracuse quarterback Perry Patterson tossed an 18-yard touchdown pass to Curtis Brinkley with 4:58 left in the third quarter. The play was a screen pass to Patterson's left. Brinkley picked up key blocks from receiver Rice Moss and offensive tackle Carroll Madison and basically ran untouched to the end zone. Patrick Shadle kicked the extra point. My colleague Dave Rahme points out that the 17 points scored by Syracuse ties for the most points in a Big East game under head coach Greg Robinson.
Syracuse 17, UConn 7
