Two weeks have passed. There was a week off. I had no idea people got weeks off. Maybe the chance for a breather, the chance to come back refreshed and renewed. Maybe.
Another stinker and another reason to re-evaluate this sort of theme posting. Once again, the play put me to sleep, waking only in time to hear the SU quarterback get pulled for a rookie and one of the receivers swapped for a back-up kicker. It is time to look to next year already apparently. It was quite funny listening to the radio with the younger commentator saying they should put in to the back-up QB, the older guy (the old coach I think) say "are you nuts?", then he goes in and gets smoked and the older one is saying you have to try these things and the younger one shaking his head a bit. Carney was involved, though, and had a pretty good day despite the rest of it:
On the ensuing drive, Syracuse attempted a fake punt on fourth-and-10. Senior punter Brendan Carney rushed for seven yards, three yards short of the first down, giving the ball back to the Bulls at SU’s 40-yard line. The Orange quickly regained possession as sophomore safety A.J. Brown picked off his third pass of the season. You have to give some respect when the punter is willing to take a tackle. He also had a big day punting averaging 48.5 for four punts with a longest of 58 yards.
Here are this week's stats:

Here are the Post-Standard's Blog notes on the game. Next week, UConn and the chance to win one last game as they play Rutgers two weeks from now in their final game and that ain't gonna be pretty. Relive my entire season to date with SU football here - you can't get this time back, you know. You just don't get it back.
Update: Orange 44 as a great photo in their post on the game "Nail. Coffin.".

I don't care for the younger announcer much. He is down on the program. Coach Mac is always upbeat, in the game, keeps the faith. I wish he was my uncle.

I feel like I just moved to Australia. Well, somewhere on the equator anyway.

Just back from Jersey where the talk was all about Rutgers. Had I been paying closer attention to these posts, I probably could have contributed to the conversation. Next year.

I am so happy I didn't watch my Pats game yesterday.. I'd be crying in my imaginary beer all day.
I had an american acquaintence the other day ask me if Canadian football only had three quarters. I said "yep, makes it harder for everyone".. he accepted my response. I wonder if he is just bad at math or doesn't understand football...

Let the record state it was not ME. Canadian football, along with Canadian politics, are these mysterious things. I mean, you people look like us, you don't live that far away, yet your money has this lady on it, and you have those cute accents (and if you are a Canadian, even if you don't think you have a cute accent, trust me, you do).
OK, where was my point....oh, you people are full of mysteries. You know what I realized today? The English gave us this measurement system, and you people don't even use it. I mean, don't you think that bothers the Queen? Maybe she lies awake at night wishing Canada would respect the English measuring systems?
