Even with the great joy that accompanies the day dictators get their due (with the Ceausescus having a special place given how public it was) we do have to recall their awareness of what might have been and what they have lost. Saddam has mislaid his doubles and no doubt now regrets not keeping in touch. Perhaps they did go off and find other things to do.
