Let's see what's going on. The Jays picked up a shortstop:
Clayton, 36, batted .258 with two home runs and 40 runs batted in last season for the Washington Nationals and the Cincinnati Reds. He stole 14 bases and made 18 errors...The Blue Jays will be Clayton's 10th major-league team. Clayton played himself in the movie The Rookie, where he was the first major-league batter to be struck out by Jimmy Morris as a member of the Texas Rangers in 1999.That's inspiring. The Sox, however, are considering sending Manny out, trying to get Matsuzaka. Manny on the move. I think this may be the year to get something good for him what with his contract now being almost a bargain. OK, a bargain-ish-ette. We - me and the Sox - seem also to be after J.D. Drew...those are the initials, right?:
Whether Ramirez stays or goes, the Red Sox do seem primed to ink Drew to a five-year deal with an annual average salary between $14 million and $15 million. That deal could be completed as soon as Saturday, or during next week’s winter meetings in Orlando, Fla. Without knowing if the Red Sox could get a reliable slugger in return for Ramirez, it is hard to see Drew becoming the No. 4 hitter. If Ramirez stays, however, slotting Drew into the No. 5 spot fills a glaring hole, plus takes an enormous amount of pressure off of Drew, if he were to arrive here.I don't know about a player that calls himself by his initials but if he bats .290 or so I can live with it. At least he didn't appear in a movie about himself striking out.

The Jays also picked up a pretty good DH in Frank Thomas, although I'm upset his acquisition probably means the departure of Frank Catalanotto.
