I forgot to mention how odd the Museum of Science and Technology in Ottawa was in one respect. It was apparently 1996 inside with many exhibits shuddering to a halt at that point in time. Which makes it pretty much miss the internet for a lot of the time. Here are some illustrations:

It is too bad as it is a pretty good place but the sponsored exhibits, like the canoes below, seem to get a lick of paint and an update a little more often than the other stuff. And the scale was a bit odd. In an area that you could play more than one basketball game in at the far end from the door, there were a number of kids activity area. Compared to the sensible and affordable Sciencenter in Ithaca, there was a great deal of lost opportunity to set out some basic and fun experiments. The kids, however, did thrill to the centrally located Canadian Science and Engineering Hall of Fame. But the big stuff rooms, rooms with trains and cars and firetrucks and even early motorcyles were pretty good if a bit of a jumble here and there.
