The Borg is expanding north:
Internet search giant Google Inc., whose plans for expansion in Canada have been a closely guarded secret over the past year, offered a brief glimpse of its strategy yesterday as it attempted to woo several hundred computer science grads. After buying Waterloo-based Reqwireless, a firm that makes e-mail software for wireless devices, Google will likely look to acquire more Canadian companies that fit with its aspirations to expand its operations into the southern Ontario tech hot spot. Speaking to a packed house of students at the University of Waterloo, Google executives said the company wants to hire an "open-ended" number of programmers and developers from Canada to staff its operations. It's just another company so this is good. Nice to have a center of excellence that is actually excellent and not a registered brand of a regional government. Yet...they are clearly planning their conquest of Mars. Govern yourselves accordingly.
