Want to be in on the ground floor of something? Beau's Brewing Company releases its first production this Saturday, pouring their lagered ale for one and all on Canada Day at VanKleek Hill in eastern Eastern Ontario, closer to Montreal than Ottawa.
This is a family operation focusing on one beer to start, a styling German ale called kölsch I understand - though they are not allowed to call it that as it is a regional name and the EU has gone all boo-hoo over others using the names of European regions. So it is lagered ale. Hail the L'ale!. The brewery even has its own blog - check out the story of how the yeast was lost and found again.

You have lived a sheltered life. Kölsch is lovery. And l'ale is a hell of a lot better that ale-ger. You would deny the beer with an umlaut?

I have led a sheltered life. But I was saying Nyeh at my poor 'Yale man' pun.

What is yale man pun? I usually see "nyeh" meaning "you are an idiot" - which I do not deny is often the case but that is the usage I have seen.

Gawd I dunno, didn't Mister Howell used to say "Heavens, A Yale Man!" all the time. Something like that-ish.
Forget those previous comments, not worthy of Canada Day kolsching. I look forward to trying L'Ale one day!

I am ashamed not to have caught a Gilligan's Island reference. You are entirely in the right. We must toast each other to attone.
