Ok, off-topic for a sec... gr: Was it you who linked to the Equal Protection for Mutants piece last week? I am wanting to include a hat tip at the Flea today!

Back on topic: Alan, given prevailing winds I am better off closer to Pickering but upwind than you are your light-bulb are in eastward Far Kingstonia.

I think it is hilarious how anti-nuclear power talk has died to zero not only here but in the UK. Sure, the "Kyoto" spell is out there but far more important, it seems to me, is the somewhat tangentially related issue of energy indepedence vis-a-vis the Saudis and their thralls. So doubleplusgood nuclear policy then!*

*I am 100% in favour of the idea, btw.

Personally, I would have dammed Hudson Bay in its entirety and introduced a Tantrama-esque tidal power plan. [This one was gold, btw.]

Pickering's more like 2 hours, but the hour and a half will get you to Darlington, which already has the land set aside for a major expansion.

Master Flea: I am not that smart. The one you seek is elsewhere.
Portland, I want one of those ice cream makers too. But what about cheese? In a ball? I made beer in a bag once. It was gift.

Alan -

I made cheese. Three bucks makes about a pound of cream cheese which tastes better than any cream cheese you have ever had. Then you realize you have a pound of the best tasting cream cheese you have ever had and the knowledge to make it for three bucks.

I see merit in a "walking office" with treadmills that power your computer (or at least power the monitor). The same with the kiddies and the TV. Make 'em sweat for their suppers! Why should you hand-crank your own lightbulb? That's what kids are for: a cheap source of labour.

gr -

I could try putting my cats on a treadmill. One is especially tubby.
