I don't think quotes are needed around "worries", as the this accurately describes how they are feeling. Definitely around "excess", as this implies a value judgement that the reporter isn't really making (unless, like 40,000 vendors are planning to show up or something).

And why not link to the original post?

Hey! I'm working on the tallying up of the sports pool over here. Gimme a minute. I do think, however, fretting and fussing over a fact of life is not so much a worry as a delusion. Here is the link<a/>.

Somehow I knew that article would be mentioned on here at some point.

Not only are the new vendors insteresting, but *gasp* they're from away!

Ha!!! That must be the real issue. Mobility being excercised by citizens selling slurpies. The arrogance of them. Likely another real issue is the streaming rain and whipping winds if reports are correct.

All the way from Halifax! That will teach them for building a bridge!

Having spent a 1/2 hour in line for a questionable slice of pizza at the event on Friday nite, it boggles the mind to hear that someone thinks there are too many vendors. I counted about 6 in total.

Could CBC PEI ever write the actual story "Islanders confused and angered by simple change"?

Not only are the new vendors insteresting, but *gasp* they're from away!

Also, competition -uh- ruins the marketplace. I think that's the First Law of... uh... what was buddy's name again?

Hans -

c.f. "Change Bad".

I don't think the new vendors were from away anymore than the old vendors were. They all kinda look like they're from Summerside or even further Up West.

"Monopoly ruined by better products" - Story at eleven.

Alan -

I once had a charming discussion with a man from Summerside whose point was Charlottetown was actually "away".

Hans -

Different=Away.

"...<i>that's</i> different..."<p>Away=Different=Bad
