What happens when Zizou is enraged...
From the BBC's live text game coverage:
What's going on here? Zinedine Zidane has lost it. He has headbutted Marco Materazzi in the chest. The Italians are furious and rightly so as Marco Materazzi lies on the pitchIn 1982 - when Italy last won - we all jumped in Rob's VW van and bombed around Truro like crazies ending up at the Teacher's College field kicking the ball. Italy was strong today but not as interesting. France was interesting but could not break through. Zizou's headbutt was nothing. Barthez was never going to stop any penalties. France needed to have scored before the whistle blew.
Good to see the final game did not devolve into some polite or fearful joke as the last two or three have. The ABC announcers judged everything on their idea of class as if that was relevant to the score at all. I was touched when Brent Musburger said that this is truly the beautiful game.

One can hardly imagine Commercial Drive at this moment and, I suspect, until sometime Tuesday.

I expect something very nasty was said and the man in blue deserved it.

"Oh, that! I, ah, meant that he was always *terrorizing* opposing defences. It was a complement!"
