When all causes of lack of productity in the economy are considered, I wonder what part is played by the little viruses that pass among elementary school kids and on to their parents. I would expect it would exceed all strikes, personal weaknesses and sheer laziness.

Not really - when was the last? Christmas I suppose but that was brought on more by being driven by Yule madness than the scholastic weeze.
