What could be worse? What could be worse than people making fun of your attack ads? What could be worse than people collecting up mock ads and posting them all together?
Making fun of attack ads in haiku?
Soldiers in the streets!or how about...
I am not making this up -
Trudeau was a Grit.
"Choose your CanadaThose aren't good enough. There has to be better...
- but choose ours or else!": that's one
Culture of defeat.
Secret, ultra - check!or
Right-wing, American - check!
...howdja spell "think-tank"?
"What's that sound? Laughter? The saddest thing is you don't even have to be particularly mean about it.
Do you hear it, Paul? What now?"
Silent is the room.

Will the denizens of the CBC get a look at these, or is this an exclusive for your readers?

Oh, no - these puppies are not for sale. They are all mine. The CBC gig has a copyright clause and I could not do that to my haiku.

It's interesting that many are comparing the Liberal ads to the (1995?) Tory ads which made fun of Chretien's face. I think it’s an unfair comparison. Most of the Liberal ads simply list things that we know about Harper. It's not like they're making fun of his face or his wife or any other personal thing. Instead, they're telling us about his past policy positions. Seriously. At worst, they're no different than the two weeks of Liberal party corruption ads we’ve already had.
Incidentally, I was at an all candidates meeting last night where the Marijuana party was featured as well as some other left wing parties. The seat had been NDP, but it now has a new candidate. Anyway, the Marijuana party candidate was very dynamic and afterwards a few people were saying that they would vote for that party (as a protest vote of course). I said what about the Tories? The response was: "Well, it will probably be a minority." I said "The polls are saying a majority." The response was: "Oh no, don't say that!" The Tories themselves have great hopes of coming up through the middle for that seat.
Which brings me to my point: I don't understand these protest vote thingies. If you're going to vote Marijuana, why not vote NDP? If you're going to vote NDP, why not vote Liberal in a tight race where the NDP has no chance of winning. This "I'm too pure to vote for my next favourite party" thing seems kind of dorky to me. It's voting, not Victorian courtship or a one night stand.
Sigh. I know, I'm a dullard.
All the wrong people seem to have benefited from this scandal. The PQ, for instance was up to its eyeballs in this, but the separatist cause is benefiting. The Tories were implicated in Option Canada, and they are also benefiting. I think we're all in real trouble heading into this election.

Ooops! I noticed a minor typo in your haiku. Shouldn't it read:

Soldiers in the streets!
I am not making this up -
Trudeau was a Git.

There was an unnecessary "r" in the word "GIT".
