I went to Kings like him and went when his son did but I also went to Kings with the NDP leader who ran the bar, too, and one of the move-y and shake-y NDP members mom's went to school with my mom...in Scotland...and me and him later, too. So I pay attention to NS politics even though I moved away almost 15 years ago.
And it is good news that the clean-living man who cleaned up the NS Tories - or as much perhaps as is possible - may have an important job with the new Federal regime:
A past federal Conservative leader also had a campaign story to tell by videotape. Quebec Premier Jean Charest recalled a visit to a Halifax tavern in 1997. "And lo and behold what does John Hamm have to drink to connect with the good people and the blue collar workers of Nova Scotia? A good solid glass of milk. John, to your good health," Charest said.By the way, I saved David Swick's column on the Charest visit to Halifax from ten years ago. Some important background info on the setting can be found here.Hamm, who plans to remain a member of the legislature until the next election, may have a role in shaping federal policy. Conservative insiders in Ottawa say he has been short-listed for the job of helping deliver Harper's campaign pledge to reduce health-care wait times.

Did you go to school with Blair MacBeth, Kristen MacDonald, Darren Sears or Kevin Lakes?
I think they all went to Kings during that time. I remember going to visit a few of them during Halloween and the campus cops fined us 3 times in two days.(they were persistent man) The worst was when we dumped water out the window of the residence...hitting a girl w/t a prom dress on. What a bunch of idiots we we're.
Anyway, good times.

Wow, I went to High Sschool w/t Kristen. Our family was good friends with theirs.
Lost touch over the years though. I did hear that Ian, her brother, was married and living in Toronto.

I know Roonie, too, and have married into the clan via a fifth-cousin on the Dryden side. Ian and I roomed as well back in '89 or so.
