Remember when TV was new and it was supposed to be a classroom in every home? Remember when the web was new and it was supposed to make us all citizen journalists? Well, I am holding to that dream and making it come true with my move in to citizen weatherpersonship.
In this installment, I give you "lake effect snow". The photos show my trip from the Thousand Island Bridge to Syracuse in which I pass though a ten mile or so thick seam of lake effect, sort of a non-stop snow squall that the right conditions create. When it is Strong it can drop a massive amount of snow. Last week on part of this area received 16.5 inches in three hours.
