I think this is the Europe a certain class of faith-based North Americans fear. This is Old Europe. This is the communalist who would lay his or her individuality down on the railway track abandoning all fiscal, ethical and political propriety for the glee of being something together. Consider these are public workers who usually are found working on the public space for the public good who on(e)¹ their own time work in public for the good...of all. Demons.
Is there any chance the fact that Google provides not a shred of rele(l)vant¹ information for the search "Italian forest ranger choir" is mere coincidence? I think not.
¹ Offending letters isolated for punishment on the demand of the dink who gave me three minutes during the uncaffienated hour. Is there anything more annoying than a spelling twit.

Just think, some day it will be the GenX40 Glee Club pictured there.

I want stylish RAF blue uniforms, too. And pill box hats with a purple stripe with GX40 on the front.
Workers' choirs are screaming to make a comeback. In the interim consider The Men of the Deeps.

Who cares? This is a blog for God's sake.
Note to spelling prigs. People find you more interesting when you have something to contribute - but then you would not be a spelling prig, would you. I better import the editorial policy of the beer blog just to be clear.

I had the pleasure of seeing the Men of the Deeps last week in Halifax. They put on a very good show.

HEY PORTLAND! I am a llamaw, how about that one? That is the coolest.
You know, I was a perfect speller and grammarian 10 plus years ago. I was even an English teacher and writing coach. Ten years of retirement from teaching and the brains are MUSH. I'm pretty good with remembering rock lyrics, though, but that must be crowding out everything else. My brain needs a hard-drive upgrade. Plug it into my ear and hit reboot.

Through the joy of Who Is? and the power of Google Analytics, I have discovered my gnemisis is nearby. ADMIT!!! Show yourself. We need a show trial.

My, my, my . . . aren’t we brittle this fine morning!
This morning’s quotable quote is: “Them that do, do and them that don’t criticize. And them that never do criticize the criticizer!”

Farce. Prig! Pedant! Underminer of thought! Admit who you are or risk being rooted out and dragged to the dock.
Paul - August 24, 2006 12:36 pm
Pedant - that's a good one! Just looked it up and it will definitely be my word of month. So many people I know are pedants and I didn't even know they were called that! This blog is such an eye opener.

Life is full of such newnesses. We can only accept when they hit us over the head like a frozen halibut.
Matt Fletcher - August 24, 2006 3:01 pm
I like the guy top middle and the woman in the centre just below him; they really seem to be giving it their all. They look like much happier folks than 'Spel Chek' appears to be.

Hey Alan, I just noticed your blog time stamp is on Atlantic Daylight Time, has it always been that way or is the GenX40 server on the island?
gr - August 24, 2006 3:14 pm
The maritime time makes it easier for me and cm to knock off early and locate adult beverages on Friday afternoons. The rest of you are encouraged to join us...
Paul, try out pedant's friend 'pedantic', useful as a put-down: 'That guy is so pedantic. What does he think, we're stupid?' Or even 'President Bosh was speaking to the nation in a pedantic way. He must think we are all stupid.'
Of those singers, I don't think it is a mistake the photographer focused on the nice looking young ladies in the middle.

Hey Matt. Check your email as the sports pool prize book is now at work for pick up.

I thought that honor went to me? Are you withdrawing the prize now, Al? (Sniff).
Alan - August 24, 2006 8:02 pm
Rest assured you are not a spelling twit.
